UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026:Notification

Application System: What’s New?
UPSC continues with its four-module online application system:
- Account Creation
- Universal Registration Number (URN)
- Common Application Form (CAF)
- Exam-specific module
Key updates:
- URN is one-time for life
- Live photo capture is mandatory
- Signature must be uploaded in a prescribed format
- Aadhaar is strongly recommended for verification

Approximate vacancies: 933
This includes 33 reserved vacancies for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). The final number may change after cadre confirmations.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as of 1 August 2026)
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 32 years
Age relaxations apply:
- SC/ST: +5 years
- OBC: +3 years
- PwBD: +10 years
- Ex-servicemen: as per rules
Educational Qualification
A graduate degree from a recognised university is required.
Final-year students can apply, but must produce proof before the interview.
Examination Fees
- Prelims: ₹100
- Mains: ₹200
Women, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempt from fees.
